Sara has worked at the community mental health center (MindSprings) in a variety of roles including Emergency Services Coordinator, Intensive Family
Therapist, and In-School Therapist. She has been honored to work in all the schools in Steamboat Springs, SoRoCo, Hayden, and the Yampa Valley School, with children and families.
Currently, Sara has a private practice working with individuals and families,. She also works as the counselor for the Cancer Program at UCHealthYampa Valley Medical Center.
Passionate about expanding her clinical knowledge and experience, Sara has gained advanced training in trauma & neurobiology, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, brief therapy, attachment theory, crisis, grief and loss work, oncology, Internal Family Systems and Gottman’s philosophy of couples therapy. She is also trained in EMDR. This affords her a broad range of skills to pull from when working with people.
