Before moving to Steamboat Springs almost four years ago I was in full time private practice in St. Louis, Missouri for over 20 years. Prior to that, the first 10 years of my working life were spent in a business career, which I left to become a professional psychologist, completing a Ph.D. in clinical psychology in 1979. Here in Steamboat Springs I have continued to practice psychology, which has always been a rich and rewarding career for me.

Ira Dubinsky

Since becoming a psychologist I have had a special interest in working with people suffering from anxiety and anxiety disorders. I am also interested in, and have worked with, a wide variety of psychological problems and disorders, including depression, grief, trauma, situational and adjustment problems, relationship issues and conflicts (including couples and families), stress, physical pain, and life transitions. Regardless of what people come to accomplish, I try to understand each person’s unique nature and situation in deciding how to address what they bring to me.

I offer daytime and evening appointments, and always take whatever time is necessary to respond to initial telephone inquiries from prospective clients. Please don’t hesitate to call and discuss any questions or concerns that are important to you. My fees are based on a sliding scale that takes into account personal or family circumstances.
